NDIS - Using your funds with Able Co.

Did you know you can purchase our bibs and AFO socks with NDIS funds?

Able Co. have designed products such as bibs, and AFO socks specifically for children with disabilities. They have been designed to meet the unique needs of these individuals, and are therefore claimable for some NDIS participants.

Depending on the participant and their plan, funds for these items may be claimable through Core Consumables funding or Low Cost Assistive Technology. Check with the participants support coordinator or therapist to clarify if our products can be claimed.

Please note items will not be shipped until full payment is made. Download your invoice for payment within 14 days (see instructions below), either send your invoice to your plan manager, or upload the invoice to the NDIS portal or PACE to make a claim for the funds. Can I use my funds for this?

Using NDIS funding to purchase our bibs and AFO socks will come down to the individual participant's plan. The participants age and disability will also determine if the items are reasonable and necessary for the participant. If you're unsure speak to the participants support coordinator or therapists to confirm.

To determine what is reasonable and necessary for your child, refer to these key points from NDIS.

In order to be considered reasonable and necessary, a support or service:

  • must be related to a participant’s disability
  • must not include day-to-day living costs not related to your disability support needs, such as groceries
  • should represent value for money
  • must be likely to be effective and work for the participant, and
  • should take into account support given to you by other government services, your family, carers, networks and the community.
We are not an NDIS registered provider yet! However you can still order with us and we hope to be registered in future.

We do not guarantee that you can or cannot use your NDIS funding to purchase any items from our store. NDIS funding is unique to the participant and what is approved for one participant may not be for the next.
